Class 1 - Learning by Doing - My Position

Students learn better when they are actively engaged in the learning process. Learning by doing is based on learning by experiences. Hence, mentor of class 1 arranged an activity “Learning by Doing-My Position.” The newbies could easily understand the concept of addition by doing it practically on the number line which made learning very effective and effortless way.

Birds are also the most important part of our nature .To make them aware about a bird's life, the mentors of class 1took this demonstration activity. Different flaps of birds and names of the birds were given to them and they had to recognise and tag the parts of different birds by keeping the flaps on a particular part Through this activity they came to know about different birds and their various body parts.

Class 1 - Conversation - My daily routine

To bring awareness about importance of time, little learners were involved in an activity, "My Daily Routine " where students were motivated to share their own schedule of the complete day and then they were encouraged to think about, why should we take care of time and should not waste it. Children were quite confident after the discussion that they will surely follow a proper and managed routine in their life.

Fish are aquatic animals. They are found in various colours, sizes and types. Fish have gills to breathe in water. Some fish are too small in size and some are too huge. They all have oily skin that keeps them safe from dampness. Some fish have the quality of jumping high out of water for few seconds. They are called flying fish. Some people like to keep fish in their home in small glass tubs or bowls. They are called aquarium. I also have a beautiful aquarium at my home. My father brought it for me as I love fish very much. It has four colourful fish. I take care of all the fish very nicely.

Class 1 - Demonstration - Good Habits

Habits are established customs which are followed regularly. Habits become a part of our nature. We should inculcate good habits in our life. A man with good habits plays an important role in the development of the society. The mentors of class 1 initiated this activity with this quote which provided a learning experience for our newbie. Mentors showed different ways to develop good habits which lead to successful character. Learners were told that good habits create virtues . So always follow good habits and lead a successful life.

Class 1 - Role Play - Who am I?

It is very well said that man is a social animal. We cannot survive in the society without the help of each other and we must have respect for those who help us in our day to day life. To develop this feeling in little learners, mentors of class 1 conducted an activity 'Who am I?' in the form of role play, where kids were ready in the getups of various helpers and audience had to guess that helper after listening his/her dialogue. Children enjoyed the activity a lot and came to know about important helpers like milkman, hawker, green grocer and many more without whom our day is incomplete.
